I am usually a very forgiving person. I forgive, forget, and move on as quickly as possible. I let the little annoying things slip. I try to always overlook the stupidity and childish nonsense that seems to be lurking everywhere. However, one thing I have a difficult time overcoming is poor customer service…or should I say an idiot asylum disguised as customer service.

These people are trained and paid to answer customers’ questions and to help resolve issues. So why does it take so much time and energy to get a simple question answered? Now, I understand that there are some very wonderful customer service representatives out there and on the other end of the spectrum, there are nightmare customers. Still, generally, customer service has gone to the dogs, and it makes me want to rip my brain out sometimes!

Without going into too much detail, I have a problem that has been ongoing for over a month. The company claims I owe them almost $95, and they want paid…which is quite understandable. If I thought I had an unpaid bill out there for so long, I’d want it paid as soon as possible, too. However, (1) I never placed the order, and (2) I never received the products. In fact, I don’t have a clue WHEN this order went through or WHAT was ordered. I have been communicating back and forth with this company for weeks to find out about this order and to resolve this matter. And after all my frustrating efforts, what have I found out? That I have a balance of almost $95 on my account…the reason why I contacted them in the first place.

They have told me to send back the products if I’m not satisfied and they will issue a refund. I’d LOVE to return the items and get this cleared up. But there’s one small problem: I never received the package. How can I return something I never had possession of? It simply isn’t possible.

I’ve sent another email to the company explaining the situation, trying to be as clear and as friendly as possible. But I’m frustrated beyond words and feeling like I’m talking to a bunch of toddlers. Nothing is getting through. Absolutely nothing is getting accomplished. And a satisfying resolution doesn’t seem in sight.

Do you have any customer service horror stories?
