As I was checking my email this morning, I came across a little gem that gave me a little laugh. Usually it’s the spam emails trying to convince me that I need to date hot women or that I’m suffering from erectile dysfunction that make my day. Today, though, my attention was grabbed by an email from something I actually subscribed to on purpose. I’m not going to name names, but this organization originally seemed interesting and promising. Now I’m not so sure.
The email I received today was about a new pet food selector that they had developed. Now, I know, as loving and responsible pet parents, it isn’t always easy to know what products are best for them. So, a pet food selector can be helpful at times. However, as soon as I saw what sort of pet food selector it is, it blew my mind. It is an astrology pet food selector. No, I am not kidding you!
The United States is a free country, so we are all entitled to believe whatever we want to, no matter how far fetched. Still, I can’t put much faith in an astrology pet food selector. Astrology can’t even decide whether I’m going to have a good day or a bad one. So, I am incredibly skeptical that it would be a valuable tool in deciding on a healthy diet for my pets. I can think of many, many more reliable and knowledgeable sources that could help me pick a pet food than letting my pets’ birthday guide my decision.
What do you think? Does astrology have a place in pet care? Would an astrology-based pet food selector be a reliable, helpful, useless, or downright ridiculous? Or do you think it is simply a crazy, off-the-wall marketing tactic to garner more attention and revenue for their website?
